Download the APK File

Targeting Android 8.0 through Android 14+

Open Chrome or your phone's browser and tap the Download APK button. Once the download completes (approx. 16.9 MB), open your notification shade or Files / Downloads folder and tap sms-gateway.apk.

If prompted: "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source", tap Settings → enable "Allow from this source" → tap Back → tap Install.

Why does "Blocked by Play Protect" appear?

Because SMS Gateway is an enterprise hardware transmitter app running from your private domain, rather than a commercial app on the consumer Google Play Store. It uses native telephony hardware to send SMS messages.

How to proceed past the dialog:

On the red/amber Play Protect pop-up, locate and tap "More details" (or the small downward arrow).
Tap "Install anyway (unsafe)".
Android will finish installing the application in 2 to 3 seconds.

Grant Essential Android Permissions

Upon launching the SMS Gateway Node app for the first time, Android will request three permissions. Tap ALLOW on each prompt:

To ensure that SMS messages and OTPs are dispatched instantaneously even when your phone is locked or unused for hours:

Battery Optimization Exemption

When prompted with "Let app always run in background?", tap ALLOW (or go to Phone Settings → Apps → SMS Gateway → Battery → select Unrestricted).

Lock App in Recent Tasks (Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, Oppo)

Open your phone's Recent Apps view, press & hold the SMS Gateway app card, and tap the Padlock icon 🔒 so the system task cleaner never closes it.

Pair Gateway with Your Web Dashboard

1-Second QR Code Pairing

Log into your web client dashboard on your PC or tablet.
Navigate to Gateways > Add Gateway.
In your Android app, tap Pair / Configure (or open Settings) and tap "SCAN QR CODE".
Point your phone's camera at the computer screen. The gateway will pair instantly and turn ONLINE (Green)!
